The APFD currently has twelve firefighters and two chiefs on staff. Last year, the department responded to approximately 750 calls for emergency service. When not responding to emergency calls, APFD firefighters also organize outreach events or visit schools to promote fire safety; offer car-seat safety checks; teach CPR courses; and assist on an as-needed basis in a broad variety of community projects, such as COVID vaccination clinics, water distribution during the winter storm and other emergencies, or City Hall clean-ups. As Aransas Pass continues to grow, the Aransas Pass Fire Department continues to step up and meet the community’s needs.

The Texas Gypsies sound is to perform the “Vintage Jazzy Swingin” cool hep cat sounds of the Great Gatsby era 1920’s, plus a mix of the Big Band Swing sound of the 1930’s and 40’s, add in a taste of its sister sound, Western Swing, sprinkle some Django style Gypsy Jazz over the top and finally finish up with a pinch of Retro Deco Rockin Roll! The band mixes passionate violin, a blazing horn section, rockin-swingin guitars, slappin upright bass, and retro style drumming to harmoniously create their own unique, classy & fun sound!
The vinyl Stripes It’s that classic sound and look of the 50’s and 60’s that influences the Texas based band “The Vinyl Stripes!” With their skinny ties, pork pie hats, Gretsch guitars, slappin standup bass and retro rocking drums, The Vinyl Stripes perform those great Rockabilly, Rock and Roll and Surf classics.
